Carapace strongly convex, and regions usually rather well demarcated; front bilobed with or without lateral lobules. Antero-lateral border with three blunt teeth, and postero-lateral border more or less strongly concave for reception of last ambulatory leg. Chelipeds unequal; fingers short and tips bluntly pointed. Thoracic sternum very narrow; accordingly, abdomen peculiarly narrow in both sexes, being seven-segmented. First male pleopod somewhat Pilumnus-type. (Takeda & Miyake, 1969)
