Actumnus squamosus

(de Haan, 1835)

Carapace is covered with soft tomentum interspersed with fewer longish hairs; the regions are only faintly demarcated. The front bilobate, the free edge of each lobe is finely granulated and is laterally marked by a lobule, from which the preorbital angle is well separated. Antero-lateral borders are scarcely arcuate, cut into four teeth, which are acuminately spine-tipped and directed obliquely forward. Chelipeds are unequal, the distal surface of wrist and entire outer surface of palm are elegantly covered with a thick pavement of squamiform tubercles, the pavement is so complete that the proper surface of these segments is entirely concealed. Ambulatory legs are rather slender and covered with soft tomentum, interspersed with longish hair. (T. Sakai, 1939: 527)
