Liomera caelata

Dorsal surface of carapace with region 2M incompletely divided longitudinally; surface of carapace distinctly rugose; antero-lateral teeth subangular but shallow; region 1M separated from 2F as well as from 2M; external face of cheliped palm granular and furnished with three longitudinal rows of larger granules; ambulatory legs nodular, short and broad, merus of P5 less than 3 times longer than broad. Type locality: Macclesfield Bank, South China Sea.
Range: Japan - Ogasawara-shoto (Odhner, 1925, Takeda, 1977a), Gobo, Kii Province (Takeda & Koyama, 1974), Shiono-misaki, Yoron-jima, and Ishigaki-jima (Sakai, 1976a), Mage-jima, Kagoshima Prefecture (Takeda, 1977b), Oshima Passage, Amami-Oshima (Takeda, 1989); South China Sea - Macclesfield Bank (Odhner, 1925), Hainan Island (Dai & Yang, 1991); Vietnam - Nha Trang (Serène & Luom, 1960); Philippines - Guimaras Island (Garth & Kim, 1983), north of Lubang (Serène & Vadon, 1981, Serène, 1984); Sulu Archipelago - Jolo (Odhner, 1925); Indonesia - Kepulauan Kai and Saparua near Ambon (Odhner, 1925); Torres Strait - Murray Island (Calman, 1900); shallow waters.
