Genus Paromola

Large sized, maximum carapace length exceeding 120 mm. Carapace strongly convex, broadest near its middle, dorsal surface only sparsely hairy, covered with sharp spinules or tubercles; pseudorostral spines moderately long, only slightly longer than rostrum, simple or with an accessory spinule; rostrum simple, directed obliquely downwards. No pigmented patches on palm of cheliped near base of dactylus. Ambulatory legs not flattened. Dactylus of fifth pereiopod curved, prehensile against the produced proximoventral corner of short propodus. (Türkay 1995)
