Genus Actaea

de Haan, 1833

Regions of the carapace separated by deep and narrow furrows, sometimes not easily distinguished one from the other. Regions invested either with petaliform groups of tubercles, coalescing into a mosaic, or with separated, diversely shaped tubercles: squamiform, spiniform, petaliform or noduliform. Ambulatory legs with an ornamentation similar to that of the carapace regions. (Guinot 1998)
