Actaea calculosa

(H. Milne Edwards, 1834)

Carapace transversely oval, covered with depressed granules. Regions of the surface divided into lobules. 2M divided only in anterior half, 4M fused with 3M, 2P transversely band-shaped, 1-4L distinctly demarcated, 1-3R confluent. Front cut into 2 lobes by a V-shaped notch. Orbit elliptic. Antennal basal segment excluded from orbit. Merus of third maxillipeds transversely quadrilateral; ischium with a shallow groove on the surface. Antero-lateral margin longer than postero-lateral one, composed of 4 blunt lobes.
Chelipeds asymmetrical. Merus shortly triquetrous, dorsal margin crestiform, armed with 2 produced lobes. Carpus slightly inflated, with depressed tubercles on dorsal and inner surface; inner-distal angle not produced. Palm with granules arranged in longitudinal series on the outer surface, but smooth on the inner surface. Fingers dark brown, with processes on the base of the outer surface, armed with a blunt triangular tooth on cutting edges. Ambulatory legs stout; dorsal margin of merus sharp-toothed. Carpus with 1-2 acute teeth along the dorsal margin; propodus with 3 teeth; dactylus subcylindrical, with spinules on the dorsal surface near the base.
First pleopod of the male with tip recurved, hook-shaped. Male abdomen with sixth segment about 1.2 times as broad as long; telson bluntly triangular, longer than broad. Female abdomen oblong. Carapace length of the female 9.6-12.8 mm, breadth 13-17.5 mm. (Dai & Yang, 1991)
