The carapace is slightly convex dorsally and flat medially; it is covered with a mosaic of tubercles, closely confluent, petaloid on the margins and with the centre slightly raised; all have blunt aspects; the furrows separating the regions are narrow and feebly demarcated. Attains 19.7 mm carapace breadth (1.3 times broader than long). Male chelipeds with black colouration of fixed finger not extending backwards onto palm. (Davie 1997)
