Actaea polyacantha

(Heller, 1861)

The carapace naked, the dorsal surface covered with squamiform tubercles of good size, of which those near the cardiac and intestinal regions are somewhat worn out, while those near the lateral borders are erect. The regions are ill-defined save 2M and 3M, which are well demarcated by deepish grooves. Frontal lobes are not arcuate; the antero-lateral borders are composed of six sharp and slightly curved tubercles including the external orbital done. Eyestalks also bear four to five tubercles.
Chelipeds are symmetrical, each segment being covered with rather erect tubercles as on the carapace; those on outer surface of palm are disposed in longitudinal series. The tubercles on anterior border of ambulatory legs are long and spiniform. The ventral surface of carapace, sternum, abdomen and also of merus of thoracic legs are smooth and glabrous. (T. Sakai, 1939: 486)
