Carapace pentagonal, its entire surface covered with short bristles; lateral borders with six teeth; front quadridentate, median sinus always evident. A triangular projection of the basal antennal segment fills up the inner hiatus of the orbit. Chelipeds and ambulatory legs spinulous. Chelipeds of both sides similar (homochelous), much shorter than subsequent ambulatory legs. All joints of these last ones robust and flattened. (Türkay 1995)
