Carapace pyriform and convex, with dorsal tubercles. Upper orbit lacking a postorbital spine. Eyestalk freely movable, cornea not particularly small. Basal antennal article overreaching anterior border of eyestalk, green (antennal) gland distinct and more or less distant from junction of basal antennal article and epistome. Third maxilliped with merus narrower than ischium. Epistome in the same plane as the basal antennal article. Ambulatory legs only moderately slender, length less than twice carapace length. Third segment of male abdomen longer than fourth or fifth, arched, with a transverse ridge. First male pleopod complex, aperture surrounded by lobes. (Türkay 1995)
