Genus Achaeopsis

Stimpson, 1857

Carapace with two spines dorsally in midline; rostrum composed of two slender spines, apices acute; interantennular spine short, not visible in dorsal view. Upper orbit with a postorbital spine against which the eyestalk retracts. Eyestalk short, nearly straight. Distal margin of basal antennal article overreaching the anterior margin of eyestalk, green (antennal) gland distinct and more or less distant from junction of basal antennal article and epistome. Third maxilliped with merus narrower than ischium. Abdomen with six free segments in both sexes. (Türkay 1995)
