Prosphorachaeus suluensis

(Rathbun, 1916)

Two prominent knobbed spines on carapace surface, one on gastric, one on cardiac region, branchial region lacking a distinct central dorsal tubercle or spine, pterygostomial margin with a smooth tubercle; supraocular eave spinulous; rostral lobes apically rounded, sometimes with small spinules. Anterior lobe of eyestalk apically blunt. Basal antennal article with spinules in a single row. Surface of sternum lacking spinules. Male first pleopod with subterminal lobe overreaching distal end of inner lobe, tip of this last one marked by a acute, hooked spine. (Türkay 1995)

Type locality: Tawitawi Group, Sulu Archipelago, 5°11'50"N, 119°54'E, "Albatross" stn 5159, 18 m.
