Carapace transverse oval, about 1.3 times as broad as long; surface convex and glossy. Front slightly produced beyond the innerorbital angle, anterior margin cut into 2 lobes by a shallow depression; each lobe with its anterior margin smooth but the outer side arched and finely serrated. Dorsal margin of the orbit entire, inner- and outerorbital angles bluntly round. Lateral margin of the carapace arched, with a shallow notch. Antennal flagellum standing in hiatus of the orbit. Merus of the third maxillipeds with the outer-distal angle produced outwards.
Chelipeds subsymmetric. Merus stubby, with obtuse teeth on its anterior margin. Carpus with the inner-distal angle obtusely triangular. Palm thick, dorsal margin bluntly round. Fingers much shorter than the palm; finger of the major chela armed with granular teeth along its cutting edges, but that of the minor chela armed only with small teeth in the subdistal end of the cutting edge. Ambulatory legs stout; propodus furnished with scattered setae in the distal portion; dactylus covered with thicker setae and spinules.
First pleopod of the male stout and slightly curved, with its distal portion slightly inflated and furnished with curved spines. The sixth segment of male abdomen much broader than long; telson semicircular. A specimen preserved in alcohol orange coloured, outlined by dark orange lines; fingers of the chelipeds brown; chelipeds and ambulatory legs marked with an obscure meshwork pattern. Carapace length 5 mm, breadth 6 mm. (Dai & Yang, 1991)
