Ozius tuberculosus

H. Milne Edwards, 1834

Carapace and chelipeds covered with numerous pearly tubercles and very short stiff setae; near the central part of the carapace, however, the granules are usually worn out except in immature specimens. The regions are deeply defined, 2M is especially well demarcated and the branchial regions crossed transversely by two crescentic furrows. The antero-lateral borders are divided into five lobes exclusive of the external orbital angle, each lobe being mounted with a large principal tubercle and a number of small marginal tubercles, the last lobe indistinctly defined and converging into the postero-lateral border, where also are found many tubercles.
The front divided into four tuberculated protuberances. One dorsal orbital fissure and two ventral. Chelipeds are markedly unequal, wrist and palm are very swollen and covered with distant pearly tubercles as aforementioned; the movable finger of the major cheliped has a large wart-like tooth near the base besides the usual obtuse teeth of the cutting edge. The tubercles of ambulatory legs are very fine. (T. Sakai, 1939: 517)
