The carapace is slightly convex anteriorly and rather well divided into areolae; those areolae are not so strongly convex and are studded with minute granules or granulated ridges around which soft entangling plumose hairs arise; the interregional furrows are wide, shallow and devoid of hairs. The front is bordered with granules and cut into two rounded lobes by a median deep sinus; each lateral lobule is separated from the frontal lobe and the supraorbital angle each by a rather deep notch. The supraorbital border is also granulated and bears a shallow depression near the external orbital angle; otherwise a deep excavation is present just outside of the prominent inner infraorbital angle.
The antero-lateral border is armed with four teeth excluding the less prominent external orbital angle, each tooth being bordered with granules of good size; the first tooth is a mere granulated ridge and fused with the external orbital angle; the second tooth is the most prominent, subtruncated and bears its tip anteriorly; the following two teeth are subequal and acute. The pterygostomial and subhepatic regions are densely covered with long plumose hairs which are crowded and visible from above. The thoracic sternum and abdomen are also densely provided with a short tomentum.
The chelipeds are unequal. The entire outer surfaces of the carpus and palm are covered with granules, the palm being more thickly covered than the carpus; in addition, those surfaces are also provided with plumose entangling hairs. The immovable finger bears two longitudinal furrows on the outer surface, one just near the cutting edge and the prominent other at the middle portion, each being filled with short plumose hairs.
The ambulatory legs are covered with plumose hairs most densely on the borders of the merus, carpus and propodus. The dactylus is provided mostly with simple hairs. (Takeda & Miyake, 1969c: 120)
