Pilumnus interifrontus

Carapace more than 1.4 times as broad as long, surface slightly convex and furnished with setae of various sizes near the margins. Frontal breadth greater than one-fourth the breadth of the carapace, and somewhat deflected; frontal margin more or less convex, with granular teeth of various sizes and with no depression. Dorsal margin of the orbit with low and flat granular serrations; inner-ventral tooth of orbit sharp and prominent. Subhepatic region covered with coarse granules. Antero-lateral margin armed with 4 teeth, including the outer tooth of the orbit: first tooth small and with 2-3 accessory denticles along outer margin, second one large and with 1-2 accessory denticles, the third one sharp and produced, the fourth tooth smaller and sharp.
Chelipeds asymmetrical. Merus short, triquetrous, with granular teeth along the dorsal and outer-ventral margin. Carpus with blunt and spiniform processes. Palm of the major chela with 3 rows of processes of various sizes on the dorsal surface and 5 rows of processes of various sizes in upper half of the outer surface; the movable finger with 2 rows of processes on the dorsal surface and armed with 6 sharp teeth along the inner margins; the immovable finger with 4 large teeth and 3 denticles. Palm of the minor chela with 3 rows of spiniform processes on the outer surface and 2 rows on ventral surface. The movable finger with 2 rows of spiniform processes on the dorsal surface and with 4 obtuse teeth along the inner margin; the immovable finger with 3 large teeth and 3 denticles along the inner margin. Ambulatory legs slender and long. First pair with merus bearing 4-5 denticles along the anterior margin, but the denticles indistinct in the fourth pair.
Female abdomen oblong, 7-segmented; telson obtuse triangular. Carapace length of the female 4.5 mm, breadth 6.5 mm. (Dai & Yang, 1991)
