Atergatopsis amoyensis

Carapace transversely oval, slightly convex, covered with fine granules; regions well demarcated by shallow grooves in the anterior two-thirds, the grooves on either side of the gastric region broader. Front deflected downwards, divided into 2 lobes. Orbit small and round; eye-peduncle with granules near the cornea. Antero-lateral margin composed of 4 lobes: first two depressed, last two more produced. Postero-lateral margin slightly concave. Posterior margin straight.
Chelipeds symmetrical. Merus short, bearing short hairs. Dorsal surface of the carpus and whole surface of the merus thickly covered with granules. Finger stout and short; the movable finger armed with 4 obtuse teeth and the immovable finger with 2 teeth on both cutting edges. Ambulatory legs stout, covered with granules, provided with short pubescence and long bristles along the anterior margins of every joint and the posterior margins of propodus and dactylus.
First pleopod of the male with distal portion slightly curved laterally, tip spoon-shaped. Male abdomen narrow and long, third to fifth segments fused, sutures recognizable; the sixth segment squarish; telson triangular. Carapace length of the male 17 mm, breadth 24.2 mm. (Dai & Yang, 1991)
