Lybia caestifera

(Alcock, 1898)

Carapace subsexangular, convex and smooth; postfrontal lobes and both sides of gastric region with bundles of setae. Front broad, with anterior margin straight, cut into 2 lobes by a longitudinal median trace, each separated from the innerorbital tooth by a slanting mark. Dorsal margin of the orbit with an indistinct notch. Outerorbital angle low and flat. Antero-lateral margin shorter than postero-lateral one, armed with 2 triangular teeth excepting the outerorbital tooth.
Chelipeds quite thin and small. Fingers slender and slightly longer than palm, with tip curved and claw-shaped, cutting edges bearing acute teeth. Ambulatory legs relatively stout, but the last one shorter and smaller. Female abdomen oblong. Carapace length of the female 3.7 mm, breadth 5.3 mm. (Dai & Yang, 1991)

Type locality: off Sri Lanka.

Hawaiian Islands - south coast of Molokai (Rathbun, 1906); ? Tahiti (Rathbun, 1907).
