Carapace glabrous, with transverse granular lines on protogastric and mesogastric regions, epibranchial line interrupted at the cervical groove and faint across midline; front with 6 teeth, medians and submedians truncate, laterals triangular and distally rounded; antero-lateral borders with 6 teeth, first 4 distally rounded, following 2 acute, last tooth much the largest, directed outwards; postero-lateral junctions rounded. Antennal flagellum excluded from orbit. Cheliped merus with 2 spines and 1-2 granules on anterior border, posterior border smooth; carpus with a strong internal spine, outer border with 2-3 spinules often reduced to granules; palm with 1 distal spine on upper border. Merus of swimming leg with a subdistal posterior spine, propodus with smooth on posterior border in adult specimens. (Türkay 1995)

Antennal flagellum excluded from orbital hiatus; posterior border of cephalothorax curved, forming curved postero-lateral junction; 6 antero-lateral teeth, first antero-lateral tooth not truncate; second antero-lateral tooth distinctly smaller than first; last antero-lateral tooth a long spine; no distinct cardiac ridges on carapace.
