Front usually strongly deflexed. Orbit at or very near the exorbital angles, divided into two fossae. Antennal flagellum very short. Generally a wide rhomboidal gap between the third maxilliped. Exopodite of third maxilliped either very slender or very broad, with a flagellum. Merus of third maxilliped not traversed by an oblique hairy ridge; palp articulating at or near the antero-external angle of merus. Male abdomen generally filling the whole space between the last pairs of legs. (Guinot 1998)
