Carapace xanthoid in outline, not noticeably flattened dorso-ventrally. Surface without traces of regions. Front hardly bilobed, with a granular or spinose margin. Third maxillipeds with the merus very short and much broader than long. Chelipeds very unequal; merus short; palm surfaces spinose or strongly granular; extremities of fingers acute. Ambulatory legs with a dactylo-propodal articulation formed by a rounded prolongation of the propodal lateral margin sliding against and beneath a projecting button situated proximally on the lateral margin of the dactylus; dactyl with a long and curved claw.
