Carapace transversely oval, dorsally very convex. Antero-lateral margins very short, with closed fissures, appearing entire. Fronto-orbital border extremely broad, equal to the greatest width of carapace. Front truncate and pronouncedly produced and deflexed. Orbits rounded. Eyes lateral and completely visible in dorsal view. Chelipeds unequal, rather stout and with short fingers. Ambulatory legs rather small. (Guinot 1998)
