Closely resembles genus Menippe in all respects, but differs (1) in the orbit being a completely closed cavity, owing to the contact of its upper and lower inner angles; hence the long antennulary flagellum is quite excluded from the orbit, and (2) in the front being rather broader (nearly a fourth the greatest breadth of the carapace) and six-lobulate.
