Genus Platypodia

Bell, 1835

Carapace xanthoid in outline. Dorsal surface with the regions hardly indicated, smooth or granular. Antero-lateral margins emarginated by a smooth crest, more or less broadened and indistinctly divided into four rounded lobes, contiguous and separated one from the other by narrow closed fissures, often hardly indicated. Ambulatory legs with only one high, subparallel crest on the superior margin of the carpus, sometimes doubled by a low carina on the external surface. (Guinot 1998)
