Platypodia anaglypta

(Heller, 1861)

The dorsal surface of the carapace is smooth and naked, the palm of the chelipeds has a crest that is smooth, blunt (rounded) on the superior margin and with the external face rugose and having defined longitudinal furrows; the fingers are grooved and pointed; the fixed finger has its margin cut into regular teeth and, in the male, the black pigmentation extends onto the inferior part of the palm. The ambulatory legs have a low carina on the superior margin. The carapace is violet brown with spots of irregular yellow. (Serène, 1984)
