Carapace xanthoid-shaped. Dorsal surface strongly areolated and convex. Antero-lateral margins convex, continued as far as the exorbital angles, without crest joining the buccal frame, and noticeably separated from the postero-lateral ones that are concave. Front with or without marginal crest and feebly bilobed. Antennules folded transversely. Basal article of the antennae short and completely embracing the ventral prolongation of the fronto-lateral margin. Chelipeds subequal, similar, and with a more or less developed carina on the superior margin of the palm. Ambulatory legs with a crest on the anterior margin, particularly on carpus and propodus.
