Carapace rounded subquadrate, regions ill defined. Front broader than orbit. Frontal margin nearly straight, slightly concave medially, subdivided into 2 distinct lobes. Postfrontal crests remarkable. Frontal region covered with short setae. Eyestalks stout and of medium length. Behind the outerorbital angle with a shallow incision. Lateral margins granulated and setose, the postero-lateral margin with a curved granulated ridge. Buccal cavern completely closed by third maxillipeds, which with the merus is larger than the ischium, the exopod broader.
Male P1 stouter than female. Manus with its upper surface finely granular, and with a median transverse granular line. Fingers widely gaping; the movable finger with a tooth near its base. Female P1 slender. P2-4 stout, densely covered with setae. P5 small. Male Pll with its distal portion curved dorsally downwards, the distal end tapering with a long spine on the dorsal border, and a tuft of stout spines on the ventral border. Abdomen elongate, 7-segmented but segments 6-7 almost fused. Male abdomen rounded. Male carapace length/breadth 4.2/5.4 mm; female 3.9/5.1 mm.
Habitat: along the seashore in mud and sand. (Dai & Yang, 1991: 488)
Range: China - Fujian (Dai & Yang, 1991); Taiwan - Tan-shui (Sakai, 1939, Lin, 1949), Pei-Men, Tainan County (Huang et al., 1992).
