Macrophthalmus boscii

Audouin, 1826

Carapace covered by small, evenly scattered granules; front deflexed, slightly constricted between bases of ocular peduncles, with smooth margins, clearly bilobed distally, median furrow deep; lateral margins posteriorly subparallel, 2 large and 1 small antero-lateral teeth. Ocular peduncles stout, only slightly longer than breadth of front, cornea extending to base of external orbital angle. Central region of epistome straight. Merus of third maxilliped subequal to ischium. Palm of male cheliped inflated, outer face smooth to naked eye, with longitudinal, feebly granular, ridge on lower third, inner face densely hairy, with scattered granules beneath the hair; immovable finger slightly deflexed, cutting edge without a larger tooth, granulate from base to beginning of spooned tip; cutting edge of dactylus with a large quadrangular tooth in distal third, distally denticulate. Upper margins of meri of ambulatory legs with long hair. (Türkay 1995)
