Carapace with heavily granular surface, except for smooth central cardiac, central gastric and intestinal region, with a thick pelt of long fine hairs over anterior third to half of carapace; front deflexed, markedly constricted between bases of ocular peduncles, with smooth margins, straight distally, median furrow deep, hair-filled; lateral margins posteriorly slightly bulging, 3 well defined antero-lateral teeth. Ocular peduncles long and narrow, cornea extending to tip of external orbital angle. Central region of epistome straight. Merus of third maxilliped markedly smaller than ischium. Palm of male cheliped short and high, outer face completely covered by fine granules, inner face with areas of fine granules interspersed with smooth areas; immovable finger straight, cutting edge with series of linearly arranged granules to form a long, low crenulated rim extending from tip almost to base; cutting edge of dactylus submedially with a very large, quadrangular, and crenulated tooth, and rounded or flat granules distally. Meri of ambulatory legs with large, pointed, tubercular granules and row of hairs on upper margins. (Türkay 1995)
