Carapace with orbits clearly oblique; front narrow, narrowest between eyestalk bases, frontal groove clearly developed, its sides always parallel or subparallel; antero-lateral margins practically or completely absent, exorbital tooth moderately to strongly acute and produced, suborbital crenellations low, flattened and indistinct except externally, tubercles on floor of orbit present. Palm of major cheliped with minute scattered granules in the center of inner face; outer face with clearly trifid depression at base of immovable finger; dactylus with very short and indistinct subdorsal furrow; gape of female chelae with a pair of enlarged teeth at least on one side. Horny terminal endpiece of male first pleopod with inner process spinous, either appressed or separated from tubular end; palp moderately long, subdistal. (Türkay 1995)
