Carapace elongate, rounded, dorsal surface moderately convex, smooth. Cardiac region with an H-shaped shallow impression, branchial region with oblique striae. Front a little narrower than half the greatest breadth of the carapace, its anterior margin depressed and sharp, slightly concave medially, dorsal orbital border without suture, outerorbital angle triangular, posteriorly followed by a small tooth. Lateral margin slightly arched medially, posterior half weakly convergent posteriorly. Posterior margin almost straight. Merus of the third maxillipeds broadened anteriorly, its outer margin arched, the inner-distal angle bluntly rounded.
Chelipeds stout in the male, asymmetrical, smooth. Merus trigonal, ventral inner border crested, finely serrated, inner-distal angle with several teeth. Carpus with triangular inner-distal angle. Palm longer than high. Inner borders of the two fingers with irregular blunt teeth. Ambulatory legs flattish; merus especially broad and its posterior distal border expanded and cut into 2-3 pectinated teeth; the anterior border of carpus and propodus fringed with a row of soft hairs; the posterior border of propodus and both borders of dactylus fringed with stiff brown hairs and sharp spinules, claw-shaped at the tips.
First pleopod of the male stout, with a chitinous distal process, curved outwards, with a rounded lobe on its dorsal surface. Abdomen triangular; telson slightly broader than long. Abdomen of the female rounded; telson semicircular, its distal margin blunt medially and weakly concave. Carapace length of the male 14.6 mm, breadth 14.1 mm; length of the female 14.7 mm, breadth 14.8 mm. (Dai & Yang, 1991)
