Liomera sagamiensis

(Sakai, 1939)

Near Carpilodes edwardsi (Kossmann), but differs in having the front much more produced beyond the usual position of the orbit, and in having a tubercle on the eyestalk near the cornea. 4L of C. edwardsi is transversely elongate but in the new species, it is not so elongate; 1M is not distinctly defined but that of C. edwardsi is fairly well distinct. C. edwardsi is described as having fine granules on the carapace, especially along the antero-lateral borders, in the new species, however, the whole surface of carapace and chelipeds are covered with microscopic pits.
