Jonas distincta

Carapace clearly areolate with furrows between regions distinct; most elevated areas topped by clusters of granules; front with a bifid median process, upper inner orbital spine stout, falling only a bit shorter than frontal process, lower orbital spine about of same size and shape as upper; size of lateral teeth decreasing from first to ninth, tenth larger than ninth, situated at postero-lateral corners and pointing obliquely backwards. Arm and palm of chelipeds covered by dense hairs. Borders of ambulatory legs very hairy. (Türkay 1995)

Range: Japan - (de Haan, 1835), north of Nagato (Yokoya, 1933), Shimoda (Sakai, 1935), Shimoda, Ise Bay and Nagasaki (Sakai, 1939), Ariake-kai (Miyake, 1961), Sagami Bay (Sakai, 1965b), Sagami Bay, Shimoda, Kii Nagashima, Kii Minabe, Tosa Bay, and Nagasaki (Sakai, 1976a), Yamagata Prefecture (Suzuki S., 1979), Tanabe Bay (Miyake, 1983), Oshima Passage, Amami-Oshima (Takeda, 1989); Korea - Cheju-do (Kim, 1973); East China Sea (Takeda & Miyake, 1968c); Taiwan; China - Guangdong (Dai & Yang, 1991).
