Randallia eburnea

Alcock, 1896

The carapace is subcircular and convex, perfectly smooth to the naked eye but it is finely granulated under the lens. There is no indication of the regions. The front is narrow and bidentate, hardly projecting beyond the eyes. The upper orbital fissures are distinct. The antero-lateral borders are indistinctly denticulate, while the postero-lateral borders are mooth. There is a tuberculiform round tooth near the middle of the lateral border, marking the junction of the antero-lateral and postero-lateral borders. The posterior border is elegantly divided into three lobes, of which two lateral are broad and round, while the middle one is very narrow. The anterior edge of the buccal cavern is very prominent and projects beyond the anterior boundaries of the pterygostomial regions, it can be seen from above beyond the edge of the front. The anterior boundary of the pterygostomial region is divided into two rounded lobes. The infraorbital lobes are low but distinct. The merus and the distal part of the exopodite of the external maxillipeds are finely granular and pubescent.
The chelipeds of the full-grown male are very long and slender, being more than three times as long as the carapace; each segment is subcylindrical and perfectly smooth, although they are closely granulated under the lens. The fingers are compressed and obscurely striped with a few longitudinal ridges. The cutting edges are finely denticulate, with enlarged denticles at regular intervals. The ambulatory legs are smooth and very slender, they regularly decrease in length from the first to the last. The dactyli are distally pubescent.
The penultimate segment of the male abdomen is armed with an acuminate tooth, but it is very often rudimentary. (Sakai, 1937)
