Carapace with upper surface and lateral walls not conspicuously sculptured; suborbital margin cut into two parts by deep groove running obliquely and medially downwards, inner part with transverse granular ridges separated by a groove. Ocular peduncle prolonged beyond cornea as long styliform projection. Endopod of second maxilliped with ovate palp, penultimate segment not expanded, last segment attached terminally. Chelipeds subequal. Ambulatory legs with large tympana. No hairy edged pouches at the base of any of the pereiopods. (Türkay 1995)
Type species: Dioxippe (Tmethypocoelis) ceratophora Koelbel, 1897, by original designation, subsequently elevated by Shen, 1935.
