Tmethypocoelis choreutes

Carapace approximately pentagonal, convex along mid-dorsal line, slightly convex laterally, cervical groove dividing gastric and cardiac regions, well marked, cardiac region with slight depression; front narrow, only abt 0.2 times fronto-orbital breadth; lateral borders moderately converging. Third maxillipeds not closing buccal cavern, merus slightly larger than ischium. Male chelipeds stout, subequal, merus reaching only to about level of exorbital angles, with tympana on inner and outer face; palm bulky, length (excluding fixed finger) 1.3 to 1.4 times height, lower border with supra-marginal groove extending for most of length of fixed finger; cutting margins of fingers evenly serrated; dactyl with median row of granules on outer surface, culminating in strong, broad, triangular, outwardly directed tooth. Type locality: Yuhi River, Okinawa, Japan.
Range: Japan - Amami-shoto, Okinawa-jima and Iriomote-jima (Davie & Kosuge, 1995).
