Carapace not much broader than long, rounded, trapezoid in outline. Surface slightly convex, without trace of areolation, smooth. Front bilobed. Orbits circular. Third maxillipeds: dactylus elongate, styliform, articulated at the distal end of the propodus. Ambulatory legs: P2 to P4 subequal in size, P5 small. (Guinot 1998)
Type species: Pseudopinnixa carinata Ortmann, 1894, by original designation and monotypy.
