Genus Lybia

H. Milne Edwards, 1834

Boxing crabs. Carapace and legs naked or feebly pilose, sometimes with long and scattered setae or tufts of long plumose setae. Antero-lateral margins without teeth or lobes, or having a short tooth or even 2-3 rounded lobes. No orbital tubercle. Chelipeds elongated and thin, with carpus and propodus elongated, the palm being always longer than broad; fingers armed with either two teeth or 6-10 teeth. Thoracic sternum a little broadening, 1.4-1.5 times longer than broad. (Guinot 1998)
