Genus Scylla

de Haan, 1833

Carapace glabrous, clearly broader than long; front with 4 teeth; antero-lateral borders with 9 subequal teeth. Antennal flagellum not excluded from orbit. Antero-external corner of third maxilliped rounded. Chelipeds heterochelous, smooth and glabrous, so are the strong and acute teeth. Propodus and dactylus of fifth pairs of legs flattened. Male abdomen with segments III-V fused. (Türkay 1995)

Carapace broader than long, surface with ill-defined regions; 9 antero-lateral teeth; basal antennal joint broad with distal lobule. Wrist of cheliped with inner spine; hand of cheliped inflated and smooth. (Davie 1999)
