Carapace broader than long. Dorsal surface covered with clusters of granules. Postero-lateral angles produced into a large blade-like spine. Pterygostomial region deeply channelled, the channel being closed below by thick fringes of hairs. Basal antennal article very short, not reaching the inner canthus of orbital hiatus. Chelipeds: fingers strongly incurved. (Guinot 1998)
