Genus Yaldwynopsis

Guinot & Richer de Forges, 1995

Medium sized, maximum carapace length about 53 mm. Carapace strongly convex, broadest near its middle, dorsal surface only sparsely hairy, provided with long spines; pseudorostral spines simple, moderately short, slightly shorter than rostrum; rostrum simple, directed obliquely downwards. No pigmented patches on palm of cheliped near base of dactylus. Ambulatory legs not flattened. Dactylus of fifth pereiopod curved, prehensile against the produced proximoventral corner of propodus, which is armed with a number of spines. (Türkay 1995)
