Carpus of male cheliped unarmed; lower surface of palm and immovable finger without longitudinal carinae. Epistomial margin with median lobes. Front not remarkably narrow. Orbits oblique; lateral margins of carapace entire. Abdomen of male abruptly constricted at the 5th segment; 4th and 5th segments fused, distal angles of 4th segment produced and acute; meri of pereiopods 2-5 with conspicuous tympana. (Davie 1996)
Type locality: Kur Island, west of Kepulauan Kai, "Siboga" stn 250.
