Carapace roughly hexagonal, widest at anterior two thirds, near posterior end of dorsal cavities, surface moderately depressed, and its anterior half divided in two large, concave and smooth regions reaching to anterior and lateral borders of carapace, posterior borders of concavities weakly convex posteriorly, spinulated and hairy, L-shaped and provided with a short median longitudinal ridge, posterior surface of carapace covered with minute granules and sparse short hairs; front moderately concave and fringed with spinules and setae, a low median projection present; inner orbital angle rounded and topped by a spine; antero-lateral borders with external orbital angle similar to internal one. Chelipeds homochelous, slender. (Türkay 1995)

Range: Japan - Kuroshima, Kohama-jima and Kayama-jima, Yaeyama-retto (Takeda & Tamura, 1980a), Hachijo-jima (Takeda & Tamura, 1985); Vietnam - Nha Trang (Fize & Serène, 1955a, 1957).
