Carapace subtrapezoid, slightly broader than long, with the antero-lateral angle bluntly rounded; surface thickly covered with a coat of down in the anterior half and near the lateral margins; regions ill defined, but a deep gastric-branchial groove extending longitudinally from the orbit to the rear. Front narrow and strongly deflected, anterior margin straight on dorsal view, with the base contracted, lateral angle round. Orbits situated longitudinally and parallel to each other; eye-peduncle fixed. Merus and ischium of the third maxilliped subequal in length, with last 3 joints compressed, dactylus twisted upwards; each joint fringed with long setae.
Chelipeds symmetrical, in the male larger than in the female. Palm longer than the fingers, propodus of the first ambulatory leg as long as broad. Carpus and propodus of the second leg armed with a tuft of dense pubescence. The third and last legs longer and more slender, covered with short hairs. Third leg longest and granulated on its posterior margin.
Male abdomen narrow and elongate, 7-segmented; the fifth segment with lateral margin slightly contracted; telson with distal margin bluntly round. Female abdomen rounded and big, but not so much as to cover the whole sternite. Carapace length of the male 7-10 mm, breadth 9-14.7 mm; of the female, length 9.1 mm, breadth 12.7 mm.
