Heteropanope glabra

Stimpson, 1858

Carapace smooth, slightly convex from front to rear and regions ill defined, but gastric regions distinctly separated from the cardiac one. Front broad, divided into 2 lobes by a shallow longitudinal groove, each lobe slightly convex on its anterior margin. Dorsal margin of the orbit microscopically serrated, but ventral margin with more distinct serrations. Antennal basal segment very short. Antero-lateral margin composed of 4 teeth, including the outerorbital tooth: first one arched and round, second bluntly round, third shaper and broadly triangular, and the last one the smallest and sharpest, a transverse crest extending internally from its base.
Chelipeds asymmetrical. Carpus and palm slightly swollen, surface smooth. Carpus with inner-distal angle dentiform. Finger black in colour except for the base. Ambulatory legs slender and elongate.
First pleopod of the male slender and elongate, somewhat S-shaped with tip tapering and directed ventrally. Male abdomen triangular and 7-segmented; telson with distal margin bluntly round. Carapace length of the male 6.5 mm, breadth 9.5 mm. (Dai & Yang, 1991)
