Carapace pubescent; transverse granular lines on frontal, protogastric, and mesogastric regions, epibranchial line interrupted only at the cervical groove, cardiac and mesobranchial regions with 3 granular patches; front with 6 teeth, medians and submedians truncate with broader borders opposed each other, laterals triangular and distally rounded; antero-lateral borders with 6 teeth, first to fifth relatively low and quadrate to rounded, first with concave lateral border, fifth the largest, sixth the smallest and most acute; postero-lateral junctions angular or eared. Antennal flagellum excluded from orbit. Cheliped granulate and with squamiform markings; merus with 2-3 strong spines on anterior border, posterior border granulate; carpus with a strong internal spine, outer border with 3 spinules; palm with 2 spines on upper border. Merus of swimming leg with a strong subdistal posterior spine, propodus denticulated on posterior border. (Türkay 1995)

Antennal flagellum excluded from orbital hiatus; posterior border of cephalothorax straight, forming angular or eared postero-lateral junction; last antero-lateral tooth shorter than any of preceeding teeth; lateral border of penultimate segment of male abdomen strongly convex. (Davie 1999)
