Praebebalia mosakiana

Sakai, 1965

The carapace is nearly as long as broad and its dorsal surface moderately convex, covered with tiny granules of various sizes; near the antero- and postero-lateral borders, these granules are somewhat raised. The front does not protrude beyond the level of the eyes in normal position, its median emargination is very shallow. The upper orbital margins are marked with two very obscure fissures, the lower orbital margins with an obtuse and broad infraorbital tooth. No trace of areolations is found on the dorsal surface of the carapace besides the intestinal area, which is very slightly convex. The posterior border is as wide as the front, having no lobule or process on either side.
The chelipeds are very slender, twice and a half as long as the carapace. The merus and propodus are entirely cylindrical, not constricted proximally nor inflated distally. The fingers are slightly deflexed inwards against the longitudinal axis of the propodus, and their prehensile edges finely and uniformly denticulated. These segments are finely granulated as seen in the dorsal surface of the carapace.
The abdomen of the male holotype is elongate pentagonal in outline, and sutures in coalesced abdominal segments are visible. (T. Sakai, 1965: 33)
