Genus Epigrapsus

Heller, 1862

Carapace smooth, antero-lateral crest clearly visible up to epibranchial corner; fronto-orbital width more than half the maximum breadth of carapace; front slightly indentated to slightly convex; suborbital crest present. Interantennular septum broad; epistome well defined and prominent. Pterygostomial regions covered by a velvet of hairs. Exopodite of third maxilliped lacking flagellum. Chelipeds homochelous, merus clearly shorter than palm. Propodus of second to fifth pereiopods with rows of hairs, dactyli with spine rows. (Türkay 1995)
