Epigrapsus notatus

Frontal border not sinusoid; antero-lateral border with at least two distinct teeth behind exorbital tooth. Meri of third maxillipeds in median line clearly longer than broad. Stem of male first pleopod mesially constricted; horny endpiece about as broad as long, distal opening situated in median line. Operculum of female genital duct protruding latero-caudally. Type locality: Nicobar Islands.
Range: Nicobar Islands (Heller, 1865, Alcock, 1900b, Türkay, 1973b); Sumatra - Pulu Weh (Tesch, 1918a); Japan - Hachijo-jima (Sakai, 1976a), Ishigaki-jima (Ng et al., 2000b); Taiwan - Ping-tung County and Taitung County (Ng et al., 1998b); Indonesia - Morotai, near Halmahera (de Man), Lirung, Kepulauan Talaud (Tesch, 1918a); Bismarck Archipelago (Sendler, 1923, Türkay, 1973b).
