Camptandrium sp

Sakai, 1983

According to Manning and Holthuis (1981), the type of Camptandrium sexdentatum Stimpson is the only representative of Japanese fauna. The present specimen is, therefore, the second one of this genus in Japan. The specimen is too young and the male abdomen and its 1st pleopod can not be examined. The sculpture of carapace of the present specimen is closely related to the known species - Camptandrium starmuehlneli Pretzmann, C. ambonensis Serène and Moosa, and C. rathbunae Takeda. Whether the Okinawa specimen is different or synonymous with the species already reported, we must wait until the adult specimen of Okinawa could be examined. (Sakai, 1983)

Range: Japan - Iriomote-jima (Sakai, 1983).
